Book Review: A thing beyond forever
Very often I read books without any prior information or knowledge about the same. And not all such books are interesting though that I tend to read till the end. Last night when my friend offered me this book "A thing beyond forever" to read, frankly it was not love at first sight. The very caption which read "Reward for every true love is not love" wasn't very appealing to me. I felt like it is the very old DevD-"love not relaised" type. But then I started reading this book and believe me 5 hours straight with breaks for dinner and regular chit chat I finished the book in one go.
There are a few things I liked in the book.
1. the naration: the author sometimes (Deliberately) exaggerates to an extend where we get bored and then introduces some sort of a humour. this is a pattern that keeps repeating.
2. the plot: it was so interesting that I sat up at 1 am from my bed and started reading sitting, which I generally dont.
3. Philosophy simplified: It had a lot of philosophy which the author tried to explain in a very simple manner. This philosophy is very relavent these days with 8 out of 10 people not being able to marry their first first love.
4. matured characters: The characters in this book seems so matured that we tend to instantly start appreciating the way they think.
5. Nostalgic: The story starts with school going kids studying in eleventh standard. Love and all only meant a little less than what is told in the book.
6. A bollywood touch: Overall reading the book was as if watching a bollywood movie. especially the kind of story it has.
Overall it was an interesting read. The last time I was really facinated with such an experience was when I read 5 point someone. No, I'm not for any comparisions, but Both these books brought in a sense of satisfaction and a smile on my face after I finished reading them, though both the books were on the darker side when its comes to story.
